ExHentai Cookie Setup

ExHentai requires authentication cookies to access its content. This guide explains how to obtain and configure them in Tsumihon.

Prerequisites

You need an existing e-hentai.org account. If you don’t have one, register at e-hentai.org first and wait for your account to gain ExHentai access (this may take some time for new accounts).

Required Cookies

At minimum, Tsumihon requires these two cookies:

How to Get Your Cookies

  1. Open your browser and log in to e-hentai.org.
  2. Open your browser’s Developer Tools (F12 or Cmd+Option+I).
  3. Go to the Application tab (Chrome) or Storage tab (Firefox).
  4. Expand Cookies and select e-hentai.org.
  5. Find and copy the values for ipb_member_id and ipb_pass_hash.
  6. Optionally, navigate to exhentai.org and copy the igneous cookie value.

Configure in Tsumihon

  1. Go to Settings in the app.
  2. Find the ExHentai Cookies section.
  3. Tap to open the cookie configuration dialog.
  4. Paste the values for ipb_member_id and ipb_pass_hash.
  5. Optionally enter the igneous value.
  6. Save.

The app validates cookies on startup and re-applies them automatically.

You can optionally set a cookie sync passphrase to share your ExHentai cookies across all your devices. This encrypts and stores the cookies in the cloud so they’re available everywhere you’re logged in.

  • An empty passphrase is allowed (cookies are still encrypted with a default key).
  • All devices must use the same passphrase to decrypt cookies.
  • Configure the passphrase in Settings > ExHentai Cookies > Sync Passphrase.

Troubleshooting

ExHentai searches return no results

  • Verify both ipb_member_id and ipb_pass_hash are set correctly.
  • Try logging into exhentai.org in your browser to confirm your account has access.
  • Re-copy the cookie values — they may have changed after a password reset or session expiry.

Cookies not syncing between devices

  • Make sure all devices use the exact same sync passphrase.
  • Ensure cloud sync is working (check that you’re signed in and syncing on both devices).
